Katja Broschat
Katja Broschat is a conservator at the Leibniz-Zentrum für Archäologie. Her research is focused on the technological processes employed in the production of artifacts, with a particular emphasis on the study of antique glass and metalwork. She is one of a select few individuals engaged in the meticulous examination of the intricate Cage Cups from the late Roman period and the early glassmaking traditions in Egypt.
Since 2013, she has been based in Egypt, where she has been involved in the study of a range of artefact types from Tutankhamun's tomb. In 2017, she was elected a Corresponding Member of the German Archaeological Institute.
